AIMH Assessment, Testing & Diagnosic Services provide comprehensive and personalized psychological evaluation for children, adolescents, and adults in the following areas:
ADD/ADHD
Behavior testing alone is not a reliable basis for diagnosing ADHD/ADD. Further testing is needed.
Tests for: behavior, attention, emotional interference;also screens for: anxiety, brain damage, depression and emotional upset.
Learning Disabilities (LD)
Schools have specific requirements that determine LD, our tests include testing to discover what the primary disability is for the child
Tests Include: Achievement, l.a., emotional status reading, spelling, arithmetic; screens for anxiety, depression and brain damage.
Dyslexia
Parents wonder why their child seems so bright, yet cannot read. Testing can provide some answers.
Tests are comprised of a stand alone battery of tests and may be added to LD testing.
Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
Intelligence is more than a single number. Intelligence testing reveals areas of intellectual strength or weakness and, often clinical information concerning the child.
Tests used are: Weshsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (4-6 years old), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (6-16 years old), Weshsler Adult Intelligence Scale (17-72 years old).
Gifted
Different school systems may have different requirements. AIMH assessments can meet most of them. Have us check with your school!
Bariatric Bypass Surgery Evaluations
The psychological evaluation helps to: 1) determine if the patient is of sound mind to make the decision to have gastric bypass surgery; 2) determine if there are any obvious psychological risks that could interfere with the clients recovery and their ability to adhere to the diet and exercise regime following the surgery; 3) determine if it is likely the patient will develop psychological issues after the surgery and ; 4) the psychological evaluation can help identify the risk factors that might become barriers to optimal weight loss after surgery.
Our assessment includes a mental status exam, developmental history, degree of social integration, availability and willingness to access support, past and present psychiatric history, the presence of unusual life stressors, coping skills, psychological resources, obesity onset and historical influences, the presence of significant psychological eating, maintenance factors, weight loss history, and the patient’s information gathering, hopes, and expectations about life after surgery and their weight loss.
